The HOUSEWARMING (Paint) Color Palette: See What Colors We Used!

Its here! If you haven’t pre-ordered Probably This Housewarming, do so before April 19th to claim your free custom candle!

One of the most absolute funnest parts of our new book Probably This Housewarming is that we created nearly every single space we feature within the pages. For 150 photos. It’s a lot! While we love design books filled with images from the homes of folks around the country and world, this book is pretty much just photos of our homes and of spaces we created for the book.

We had very specific design concepts, projects, and styles we wanted to include, so creating new spaces was super important (and yes maybe we’re control freaks). Part of this meant we had to pick out a lot of paint colors. And of course, as you may expect from us by now, we turned to our old faithful Sherwin-Williams. We’ve worked with Sherwin-Williams for several years on the blog and on our social media channels to create spaces that we hope inspire you to take action on making your own colorful project come to life, so when it was time to pick out all of the colors we would use, it was a no-brainer where we’d be sourcing them from.

We’d spent so much time already looking at their colors for past projects, so it actually wasn’t too hard for us to pick the ones we feature in our book. Like, we’d loved their Tricorn Black for so long but had never had the right room to use it for in our real life, so we took the book photoshoot as an opportunity to paint an entire room with it and style accordingly. It was so much fun finally getting to splatter walls with colors we’d loved for years but hadn’t had the chance to use in our own home.

As for the product we used, we typically stick to their incredible Emerald Designer Edition for our walls, and then for trim or areas that get a lot of potential scuffs we use the Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel, which is a water-based enamel that is super durable and easy to clean.

Below we’ve got some of our favorite photos from our book, which you can order right now (all orders before April 19th qualify for a free custom designed candle by us, which you can claim at probablythis.com/book!). Check them out and get to painting, sweet friend!

Cavern Clay SW 7701

Obsessed with this color. It’s the perfect terracotta—not too saturated, super earthy, and beautiful in both high and low light.

Rosedust SW 0025

We loved this color so much after using it we went on to use it in our floral den! Here we’ve added a plaster wash on top for a gorgeous textured effect, and this room is featured on the book’s cover!

Privilege Green SW 6193

This green is an absolute stunner that tows the line between moody and uplifting so perfectly. We loved using it as the backdrop to our bar cart setup.

Tricorn Black SW 6258

The most perfect black paint color there is in the world. Tricorn Black is not messing around. It is BLACK black and provides the most amazing contrast for the dusty red oranges and creamy linen colors of this bedroom we styled.

Amalfi SW 6783

A stunning sea blue that can fit into so many room styles. We loved painting a whole room this color! You can find images of the whole room with this color in the book.
