The Best Hudson Valley Cottage Stay [Upstate New York Travel]

We’re winding down from one of the most incredible vacations I’ve ever experienced. And it wasn’t even anything all that opulent, just five lovely nights in a quaint home in a beautiful part of the country dotted with the most charming small towns and the most gorgeous natural landscape.

I’ll have a blog post about everything we did in Hudson Valley this coming week, but I couldn’t help but share the place we stayed ASAP, because I want you to experience it too. It was so inspiring that I sped through editing the photos as soon as I had a moment to sit down to my Bloody Mary at the airport.

The couple who owns the cottage work in architecture and interior design, and their incredible taste is layered throughout the home, from the floorboards to the rugs to the furniture to the artwork to the landscaping. It’s a slice of heaven that was plenty spacious for the two of us. It would comfortably sleep two couples across its two bedrooms, or a family of four, if the kids can share a bed.

Located about 12 minutes from downtown Saugerties, New York, it was quiet and secluded while being within a half hour drive of all the towns we wanted to explore. We took day trips to Hudson and Catskill and Rhinebeck and New Paltz and Woodstock with ease.

It’s rare to feel so at home in a vacation rental, but we did, and I can’t wait to return (we’re already eyeing our next booking dates hehe).

Take a look through the photos below and let us know if you’ve got any questions!
